Introduction: Tyler Honsel is a touring/recording bassist based out of Los Angeles, CA, who doubles equally on electric and upright bass. He has toured the world performing professionally, and enjoys performing a variety of musical genres. Tyler currently works as a freelance session bassist in the greater Los Angeles area. He has had the pleasure to tour with multi platinum artist Engelbert Humperdinck in addition to working with grammy winning artist Judy Collins and academy award winner Shirley Jones. Tyler has received a bachelors degree in music performance from Penn State, graduating in 2011, and a masters degree in music performance from the University of Colorado graduating in 2014. He has served as principle bassist in the Pennsylvania Centre Orchestra, Williamsport Symphony, and Cheyenne Symphony and assistant principle bassist in the Greeley Philharmonic in addition to performing regularly with the Colorado Springs Symphony, Opera Colorado, Boulder Symphony, Fort Collins Symphony and Altoona Symphony. Tyler has spent time sailing around the world with international cruise lines as a show band bassist. He has sailed with Holland America Line, Norwegian Cruise Lines, and Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.
