Drummer, Deon M. Hairston AKA “The Pocket” attended Berklee College of Music where he earned a Bachelor of Music in Professional Music.  He was a recipient of the North American Scholarship Tour and the Berklee Entering Student Talent Scholarship (B.E.S.T. Scholarship). He went on to earn a Master of Music in Performance from Azusa Pacific University. Deon has performed with artists such as Clark Terry (Jazz Legend/Pioneer), Patti Labelle, Kim Hill (Black Eyed Peas), Abraham Laboriel Sr. (most widely used session bassist of all time), Raphael Saadiq (Tony Toni Tone’), Branford Marsalis, Dennis Wilson (Count Basie Orchestra), Phil Wilson, Hal Crooke (world’s fastest trombone player), Keaton Simons, Eddie Baytos, Me’Shell N’Degacello, Joi (Tennessee Slim), Torrell “Tori” Ruffin (The Time), Norwood Fisher (Fishbone), Christopher Thomas, The Regiment Horns, Tiger Okashi, Natalie Stovall and more.  Deon founded and owns a production company called M.C.P. and is a singer/songwriter.  He teaches drum and vocal lessons. He is also a judge in the drum competition “The Next Great Drummer.”
