Introduction: Phillip Whack is a native of Columbia, SC. He picked up the sax at age 11. Phillip’s parents constantly played music of all genres, from Nat king Cole to Miles Davis, David Bowie, Earth, Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart, Louis Armstrong, Marvin Gaye, and Grover Washington, to name a few. Phillip studied at Brevard College. When he first heard John Coltrane, it changed his life.
