Introduction: Phillip Whack is a native of Columbia, SC. He picked up the sax at age 11. Phillip’s parents constantly played music of all genres, from Nat king Cole to Miles Davis, David Bowie, Earth, Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart, Louis Armstrong, Marvin Gaye, and Grover Washington, to name a few. Phillip studied at Brevard College. When he first heard John Coltrane, it changed his life. Phillip has shared the stage with the likes of; The Average White Band, Lenny Kravitz, Clarence Clemons, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Ojays, Branford Marsalis, Wycliffe Gordon, Funk legend Fred Wesley, Aretha Franklin, The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra and many more.
